Yeast is a kind of fungus that resides in a dark, moist, and warm vagina. The normal vagina has only a small number of yeast cells in it. When the imbalance causes the number of yeast cells to increase, you suffer with a vaginal yeast infection. Over seven out of ten women develop a vaginal yeast infection once in their lifetime.
A couple of years ago, I joined the majority of women who suffered from a vaginal yeast infection. Every treatment and medication in the medical society dissapointed me. But, I found the cure that worked for me and I'd like to tell my story.
One day, my vagina got so itchy. I was experiencing swelling, redness and burning. Prior to this, I never suffered from vaginal yeast infection. But, I knew about the symptoms. I was pretty confident that I developed a vaginal yeast infection. I could not bear the itching and I asked my sister to go and get some over-the-counter drugs. The medications helped me feel a little better but the symtoms never went away.
I set up an appointment with a doctor and saw her the next day. The swelling and discharge as well as the redness are the things she paid attention to first. She said that she had to test some samples in order to determine if I developed a yeast infection. Some of STC (sexually transmitted disease) may give same kinds of symptoms, accoring to the doctor. The lab reports returned and the doctor confirmed that I am a yeast infection sufferer.
I asked her how I got a yeast infection. She told me that there are several things that cause a vaginal yeast infection. They are hormonal changes during the periods, diseases like AIDS/HIV, taking medicines like antibiotics and birth control pills, and pregnancy. I was surprised that things like stress, lack of sleep and poor eating habits can lead to vaginal yeast infection.
The doctor told me that I needed to come and see her before using over-the-counter creams and tablets. Seven out of ten women who use over-the-counter creams or tablets actually have yeast infection. If you use them when you don't have any infection, it would be very hard to cure when you have a real infection.
The doctor said that there are things you can do to prevent the symptoms from becoming worse. Any scented hygene items such as tampons, pads and bubble path products must not be used. The more frequent changes of tampons and pads were advised during the period. I had to stay away from any clothes or underwear that are made of synthetic fibers. I was also told to change clothes right after the workout.
She recommended some medications and I was taking them daily as instructed. At the beginning, the medication gave me some good relief, resulting in less itching and less pain. I was in shock when severe, unbearable itching came back.
I didn't go back to my doctor's office because I felt all the coventional medical treatments failed me. I decided to do some researches on vaginal yeast infection myself. I did an extensive research online. And, one day, I found a very interesting posting in the yeast infection related forum. The posting was all about curing yeast infection in a natural way.
I was skeptical but I decided to try after having a few conversations with the woman posted the information. In two or three days, the severe itching and redness were gone. I was worried that they would come back like last time. This time, in two weeks or so, almost all the symptoms were gone.
Here's how to permanently cure your yeast infection.
